Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller turned down for roles on 24

Thursday, December 14th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Two big box office names, Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller, are huge fans of the popular series 24. And when more and more names kept popping up as regulars and guest stars this season, apparently their people got in touch with the 24 people… and were turned down for roles.

Executive producer Joel Surnow says, “You can’t put those people on (the show) because they’re too recognisable. They’ll take you (viewers) out of the reality.”

Darn!

Rick Schroeder latest cast addition to 24

Monday, December 4th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Wow, the new cast lineup for 24 keeps getting better and better. Silver Spoons and NYPD Blue alum Rick Schroeder has signed onto the series that has recently seen Chad Lowe, Regina King, Powers Boothe, Peter MacNicol, James Cromwell, Kal Penn and David Hunt join the series. He is one of many new faces who have signed up for the new season of 24, which premiere’s its new season with a four hour two night extravaganza in January.

Schroeder will play Counter Terrorism Unit operative Mike Doyle, who teams up with lead Keifer Sutherland’s character Jack Bauer to pull off key field operations.

I like Rick (although I honestly always think of him as little Ricky Schroeder) and am looking forward to see how he does this role in the series. While he had a stint on NYPD Blue, the tone of 24 is quite different.

This season is going to be great!!

More from the FOX press release

He joins a list of notable newcomers this season, including Chad Lowe (ER), Powers Boothe (Deadwood), Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal), Regina King (Ray), James Cromwell (Babe), Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar), Marisol Nichols (In Justice), Alexander Siddig (Syriana), David Hunt (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Harry Lennix (Commander in Chief).

As previously announced, Emmy nominees Jean Smart and Gregory Itzin return for another day as FIRST LADY MARTHA LOGAN and PRESIDENT CHARLES LOGAN, while Eric Balfour and Carlo Rota reprise their respective roles as CTU contractors MILO PRESSMAN and MORRIS OBRIAN.

24s Season Six will feature WAYNE PALMER (DB Woodside), the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer; SANDRA PALMER (Regina King), a determined and powerful advocacy lawyer; presidential advisor KAREN HAYES (Jayne Atkinson); and CTU colleagues CHLOE OBRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), CURTIS MANNING (Roger Cross) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison).

The DVD will be released January 16th.

Eddie Izzard quits 24, David Hunt takes his place

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Rumors abound after Eddie Izzard abruptly quit the hit series 24 after only one day of taping. There has been plenty of speculation, but Izzard claims it is simply because 24 wanted him to sign on for possible additional episodes later in the season, and he declined due to conflicts with his upconing Minnie Driver series The Riches.

David Hunt, the husband of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’s’ Patricia Heaton, has now been brought on board for the role of the villian.

It is an interesting decision for someone to voluntarily leave a juicy role on 24, I hope it works out for him.

Powers Boothe the new Vice President on 24

Sunday, October 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Powers Boothe (don’t you just love that name?) of Deadwood fame has signed on to be the new VP on 24’s new season.

In the recurring role, he will play Noah Daniels, the No. 2 to new U.S. President Wayne Palmer (D.B. Woodside). Powers, who co-starred on HBO’s “Deadwood,” recently wrapped the indie “The Final Season” opposite Sean Astin.

Chad Lowe the latest to join the cast of 24

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Chad Lowe, AKA the ex Mr. Hilary Swank, is joining the cast of 24 this season. He will portray the “savvy politico” Reed Pollock when the series starts its sixth season in January.
Lowe has done plenty of guest starring stints in recent years on various television shows such as CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, ER and Medium.

It is not yet known if he will appear in the four hour extravaganza that will make the two day season premiere on the popular season, or if he will arrive later in the season.

It’s a pretty plum job for someone who has been known as late as being either Hilary Swank’s husband, or being the Oscar winner’s ex-husband, because despite his recent acting credits, he hasn’t done much to be noticed for since his Tiger Beat days as a teen heartthrob. I am sure it is something all husbands of famous women worry about… just imagine where Kevin Federline would be tomorrow if Britney finally came to her senses and kicked him to the curb. Probably no where except for “Where are they now” columns in People magazine that tell of his Vegas clubbing ways.

New 24 trailer countdown on exclusive trailer site

Friday, October 6th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

24 fans feel like they will be waiting forever to finally see what happens to Jack in the sixth season of 24.  But there will be an official 24 trailer for the sixth season available this month… on Tuesday, October 24th at 3pm EST, to be exact.

The official trailer site is 24trailer.com.  And in case you forget when you can finally see the new season’s trailer, the website has a countdown so you know right down to the second when you can see Jack and company in brand new scenes.

You have to wonder how their server will be able to handle all the users hitting that site all at once on the 24th to view the new trailer.  Hopefully they have a kick butt sys admin to be able to handle that kind of traffic.  That will remain to be seen :P

Kiefer Sutherland spotted filming helicopter crash scene for 24

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

TMZ has the scoop on a scene being taped in Los Angeles for the upcoming season of 24.

When a helicopter crashes through your apartment building, a gun toting man crawls on your roof and a fiery explosion ruins your nap, it’s safe to say your day has been ruined … well unless “24” star Kiefer Sutherland is there to rectify the situation.

That’s exactly what happened to a normally quiet Los Angeles community yesterday when Kiefer and his crew stopped by to shoot an action-packed scene for next season’s “24.”

Sutherland’s character, Jack Bauer, pulled an injured man from the smoldering wreckage before the chopper fell to the ground and exploded.

Head over to TMZ now to view the pics taken of the scene.
