24 star Kiefer Sutherland arrested on drunk driving charges

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Sheesh, when will y’all learn. But yet another celeb has been popped for a DUI, this time 24’s Kiefer Sutherland. And, as you may recall, Kiefer has a previous drunk driving conviction, which means if he gets convicted on this one too, he will have to serve at least five days in jail minimum. Nothing like some jail time to put yet another crimp in the already controversial new 24 season!

TMZ, of course, has all the nitty gritty.

MZ has learned that “24″ star Kiefer Sutherland was busted on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood last night, after allegedly blowing more than twice the legal limit of .08. This is the actor’s second DUI in the past five years — he was arrested in 2004. By California law, if he’s convicted, he must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail.

Police sources tell TMZ 40-year-old Sutherland was pulled over around 1:35 AM PST on the corner of La Cienega and Beverly. Sutherland was at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nightclub earlier that evening. The photo in this story was taken at the event.

Sutherland, who was stopped after making an illegal U-turn, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and transported to the Hollywood Police station. He was booked at 4:09 AM and released at 5:42 AM on $25,000 bail.

So I wonder how the Fox bosses are appreciating this little bit of 24 publicity! And he is joining a long line of Hollywood celeb’s who have been popped for a DUI lately.

24 adds yet another two cast members

Thursday, September 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Ok, who else is starting to wonder exactly when Jack Bauer is going to appear on screen after adding so many cast members during this hiatus? Because, you guessed it, they have added two more cast members.

First up is Jeff Nordling.

Jeffrey Nordling, who most recently played Brent Barrow on the FX sitcom Dirt, is joining the clock-ticking series as a regular, playing an FBI agent named Larry, per the Hollywood Reporter. He’ll continue to appear on Dirt in a recurring role.

And Jeff Billingsley is the second:

Also clocking in for a recurring role on the Fox drama is John Billingsley, most recently seen on ABC’s short-lived series The Nine. Details on his character, Latham, have yet to be revealed.

And don’t forget General Hospital star Annie Wersching was also added this week too.

Hopefully all these new cast members will equal a better season than the last one.

Bob Gunton might be back on 24 as series regular

Thursday, September 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Bob Gunton, who plays former Secretary of Defense Ethan Kanin on 24, is in talks to return to 24 as a series regular this season. His role would be upgraded, where he will play the Chief of Staff for the new president Allison Taylor, played by Cherry Jones.

General Hospital star Annie Wersching joins 24

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Annie Wersching, who played Amelia on General Hospital, is the latest in a string of stars to sign on to the new season of 24. She will play a new love interest for Jack Bauer, an FBI agent who butts heads with Jack early on, but gets, um, cozy with him by the end of the season.

Colm Feore to play the new first husband on 24

Friday, August 24th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Ah, don’t you just love the sound of “First Husband”! Colm Feore has joined 24 to play Cherry Jones’ husband. As you will recall, Jones will star as the next president on 24… and Jones is a FEMALE president. No word yet on any more details of his character.

I don’t know, but he strikes me more as the head of Secret Service kind of a guy rather than first husband!

Production of the twice-delayed season of 24 will (presumably) begin filming on September 10th.

Janeane Garofalo is 24’s latest cast addition

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Janeane Garofalo has signed on to the newly rewritten - and once again delayed - seventh season of 24. She will play Janie Gold, an FBI systems analyst investigating the whole Jack Bauer saga. Garofalo, who was recently on NBC’s final season of West Wing, was also attached to the Law Dogs project on CBS. That show, which also starred the likes of Scott Wolf and Mark-Paul Gosselaar has not (yet) been picked up for the fall season.

Cherry Jones is new 24 female president

Monday, July 23rd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Fox’s 24 has elected Cherry Jones to play the new president on the show, which is drawing plenty of parallels to Hillary Clinton. Cherry Jones, who is best known for her roles on The Village and the Signs, has signed on to 24 for next season to play President Allison Taylor.

It will be interesting to see how this new female president affects the real life potential female president Hillary Clinton, if at all.

Go girls!

Mary Lynn Rajskub will return to 24 as Chloe

Monday, July 16th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the change in the 24 plotline for the entire seventh season means good news for Mary Lynn Rajskub. She will be returning next season on 24 as Chloe.

She also weighed in on the seventh season chaos with “I don’t know what’s going on over there, but they’re going crazy. … I don’t think we’re starting until a couple of weeks into August now. It’s kind of exciting, because I think it means that they’re really having to dig in there and come up with new stuff.”

24’s entire Season 7 ordered to be rewritten by FOX

Friday, July 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

FOX has scrapped nearly the entire season 7 plotline of their hit series 24,just a couple weeks before the entire cast and crew was supposed to start filming. The primary reason is that it was too expensive to shoot several episodes planned in Africa, and transforming Los Angeles to look like Africa wasn’t going to work either (sheesh, wonder why?)

So the writers are back at the drawing board rewriting an entire season. And this means that filming, which was supposed to start at the end of July is pushed back at least three weeks to mid-August.

24’s season 7 is scheduled to premiere in early 20078.

24 might get a female president in season seven

Friday, June 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

24s6.jpg

Looks like the writers of 24 are considering going with a female president this time around. The timing would be pretty interesting considering Hillary Clinton could potentially be running for president too. But supposedly, the decision won’t have anything to do with whether Hillary does or doesn’t, but rather how the writers end up moving the show creatively for the show’s seventh season.

No word on who they may be considering for the role… any thoughts? Maybe they could bring on Geena Davis, as I enjoyed her in Commander in Chief ;) Ok, very likely not, but I am having trouble thinking of which female actress could play a great president with the current cast they have on 24.

Personally, I hope they go for a chick… but that could be because I am one!

FOX renews 24 for two more seasons, or two more days in 24 time

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

24.jpg

You will be able to get your 24 fix for at least two more seasons, which really boils down to a mere two days in the lifetime of the show, after FOX picked up the popular drama to continue running through the 2008-2009 primetime season.

Fox has renewed the Emmy-winning real-time drama starring Kiefer Sutherland through the 2008-09 season. Sutherland is already locked to stay with the show through 2009.

“24″ has had a roller-coaster ride the past couple of seasons, earning rave reviews for season five, which was capped by a best drama series Emmy and drawing criticism by some fans for the plotline in the current sixth season.

So yes ladies, it looks like you can enjoy Jack Bauer for another two years, because one can only assume that 24 would not be continuing without Jack.

Saturday, March 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Sprint users get exclusive 24 promos and previews

Saturday, January 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

24jackbauer.jpg

Sprint is continuing its exlusive content deals with various television shows by adding 24 to the lineup that has included Amazing Race, Smallville and America’s Next Top Model.

Sneak peaks of the following week’s episode, available to Sprint TV subscribers as soon as the show airs on the East Coast, are part of Sprint’s overall media deal with Fox. While Sprint pays an incremental fee for the in-show integration, the exclusive content was provided at no additional cost to the company. Sprint’s sneak peaks are sponsored by Degree Deodorant.

So what will fans be getting? Obviously previews and promos that are not available to the public for upcoming episodes. But there will be other offerings for 24 fanatics to download.

In addition to “24″ ringtones, games, images and logos, Sprint also will offer subscribers a “covert ops” sweepstakes in which they can enter for the chance to win a trip to Incredible Adventures, a simulation spy training camp in Sarasota, Fla.

There also will be an experts quiz to test your “24″ IQ and a covert ops survival guide tied to previous episodes of “24,” with the first tip being how to survive a cougar attack.

Some interesting things for fans. And I could see that some rabid fans might be tempted to sign on with Sprint to get it. But you have to wonder how long it will take after each new content release for it to show up on YouTube.

Episodes from upcoming season of 24 leaked on BitTorrent

Saturday, January 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

24a.jpg

The season premiere of 24 is still a week away, but the first four episodes have already been leaked to BitTorrent and are available for fans to (illegally) download.

The leak is the work of AsiaTeam, a Spanish language group known to regularly upload TV shows and movies to BitTorrent. Several commenters on mininova are convinced that these are “the real thing” and not fakes. A contact who says she downloaded the torrent just confirmed that it is in fact 100% real.

The originating source of the video seems to be a leaked copy of the 24 season premiere DVD which will go on sale after the season premiere airs in the US, on January 16th.

It is unfortunate that something good that FOX did for fans ends up biting them in the a$$. I can only imagine how many hardcore fans will be downloading these episodes off BitTorrent rather than supporting the show (and the ratings) by watching it live. It will greatly skew the ratings for the season opener, especially since it is still a week to go before those first new episodes air on FOX.

Kim Raver’s Audrey Raines returning to 24?

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com
kimraver.jpg24 fans have reason to celebrate the cancellation…er… hiatus of The Nine. That is because it sounds like Kim Raver is returning to 24!

Kim Raver played Audrey Raines on the show, but left to costar in her own series, The Nine. She also has a new movie, Night at the Museum, which has just opened in theatres.

While she won’t be new to the series, she would definitely be added as one of the many high-profile guest stars, recurring characters and main stars for this season.

It isn’t official yet, but we will definitely report when it is!

And, incase you live on another planet, 24’s season premiere is January 14th on FOX, followed the following night with two more hours of the season premiere. Yep, that is a two-day four-hour season premiere extravaganza. And now that you are thinking of the new season again, you can view the sixth season trailer for the umpteenth time here ;)

Sunday, December 31st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Ok, who isn’t joining the latest season of 24? Now comes word that Jamison Jones has signed on for a recurring role playing the head of the President’s secret service detail. Jones - who actually guest starred on two episodes of the show back in 2003 as a deputy - will play Wayne Palmer’s (DB Woodside) head of the secret service.

Jamison Jones has guest starred on many popular series, including NCIS, Crossing Jordan, Alias, That 70s Show, Will & Grace, and even Beverly Hills 90210.

No word as of yet when his episodes will air but the new season premieres with a two-day four-hour extravaganza beginning January 14th. And don’t forget the season six 24 trailer is available online too!

24 parody - Santa on Christmas Eve

Sunday, December 17th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

This is a very cute video about Santa Claus done in 24 style, complete with the time the video takes place on and you’d swear the people behind the video were actually the same as those who do the show. Maybe this was a leaked video from their Christmas party? Check it out!

Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller turned down for roles on 24

Thursday, December 14th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Two big box office names, Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller, are huge fans of the popular series 24. And when more and more names kept popping up as regulars and guest stars this season, apparently their people got in touch with the 24 people… and were turned down for roles.

Executive producer Joel Surnow says, “You can’t put those people on (the show) because they’re too recognisable. They’ll take you (viewers) out of the reality.”

Darn!

Rick Schroeder latest cast addition to 24

Monday, December 4th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Wow, the new cast lineup for 24 keeps getting better and better. Silver Spoons and NYPD Blue alum Rick Schroeder has signed onto the series that has recently seen Chad Lowe, Regina King, Powers Boothe, Peter MacNicol, James Cromwell, Kal Penn and David Hunt join the series. He is one of many new faces who have signed up for the new season of 24, which premiere’s its new season with a four hour two night extravaganza in January.

Schroeder will play Counter Terrorism Unit operative Mike Doyle, who teams up with lead Keifer Sutherland’s character Jack Bauer to pull off key field operations.

I like Rick (although I honestly always think of him as little Ricky Schroeder) and am looking forward to see how he does this role in the series. While he had a stint on NYPD Blue, the tone of 24 is quite different.

This season is going to be great!!

More from the FOX press release

He joins a list of notable newcomers this season, including Chad Lowe (ER), Powers Boothe (Deadwood), Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal), Regina King (Ray), James Cromwell (Babe), Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar), Marisol Nichols (In Justice), Alexander Siddig (Syriana), David Hunt (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Harry Lennix (Commander in Chief).

As previously announced, Emmy nominees Jean Smart and Gregory Itzin return for another day as FIRST LADY MARTHA LOGAN and PRESIDENT CHARLES LOGAN, while Eric Balfour and Carlo Rota reprise their respective roles as CTU contractors MILO PRESSMAN and MORRIS OBRIAN.

24s Season Six will feature WAYNE PALMER (DB Woodside), the strong-minded brother of the late President David Palmer; SANDRA PALMER (Regina King), a determined and powerful advocacy lawyer; presidential advisor KAREN HAYES (Jayne Atkinson); and CTU colleagues CHLOE OBRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub), CURTIS MANNING (Roger Cross) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison).
